Our Central Phoenix client is seeking an Interim Controller Estimated 3-4 months and need is immediate. Ability to convert as well In person one day a week, 4 days will be remote Hours will be approximately 40 per week Primary Project Responsibilities - Leads the Division accounting team, which is comprised of division specific general accounting, fixed asset accounting, lease accounting and accounts payable processing. Establish/maintain a high-performance team of professional, motivated and engaged staff utilizing effective training, performance management and career-development activities while leading them to achieve established business results and performance metrics Process Excellence and Technology Innovation: Oversees and runs the month-end close process for the Division, ensuring that all transactions, assets and liabilities are properly recorded for the division each month. Designs and implements accounting systems and processes to effectively and efficiently process financial transactions. Fosters an environment of continuous improvement by championing new technologies to facilitate a more streamlined month-end close process. Interfaces with IT on all systems and software feeding the general ledger, accounts payable and payroll. Business Decision Support and Management Reporting: Develops, analyzes, and interprets accounting information in order to measure the Division`s operating results in terms of profitability, capital spend, performance against budget, along with other matters affecting the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the Division. Assists with the accounting for Financial Aid and student collection efforts. Participates with the Division President and CFO in establishing major economic objectives and policies and prepares reports that outline the Division's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations. Must haves - Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, self-motivation and focused attitude are key Strong organizational skills Proven time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments within a short period of time where deadlines are essential Knowledge of PeopleSoft, FloQast, OneStream, or UKG a plus.
