I. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:ATechnical ServicesReceive booksCopy cataloging for standing orders and firm orders - OCLC, AlmaEBook processing - OCLC, AlmaPrint periodicals processing if receivedMarkingProcess course reserves each term - Excel spreadsheet, AlmaCatalog record maintenanceScan dissertations/theses and save them in L-DriveB. PreservationVacuum old, fragile books and box themAssist library staff in consolidating archives throughout the libraryAssist library staff in weeding and discarding a portion of the library collectionsUpdate the library catalogC. Other Projects/Tasks Assigned by Library DirectorII. Success Factors/Job Competencies:Outstanding verbal and written communication skillsAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them in a timely fashionCapacity to work independently with little or no supervisionExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailReliability and strong work ethicDemonstrated professional attitudeIII. Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, crawl, safely climb a step ladder up to 10 feet, and lift/move up to 50 pounds. The employee must also perform repetitive wrist, hand, and/or finger movements to type and work on a computer, and have finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination to work on a computer as well as use a telephone and related office equipment. The individual will regularly be required to communicate professionally in person, over the phone, and through email. They will also need to sit, type, and stare at a computer monitor for prolonged periods.Work Environment: The employee may occasionally be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time, but work is performed primarily indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
