BakerEl Super #17Start Rate: $17.87 per hourJOB SUMMARY:Underthe Bakery Manager's supervision, a Baker prepares, and bakes high volumebakery products using standardized recipes and performs other relatedpreparation and sanitation duties as required. Mustbe able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform heavy lifting.DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:Thereare three different sets of baking tasks for the Baker position that varydepending upon the shift. The shift will determine the tasks performed and thespecific items to be baked. A bakery production spreadsheet is provided by theBakery Manager. The Baker will begin their shift by obtaining the necessaryingredients for the designated items to be baked. The ingredients are bothstacked against the side wall of the bakery as well as in the refrigeratorunit. Once all items are obtained, they are prepared accordingly. The items arethen properly mixed using large mixers. They are taken from the mixers andplaced on to metal baking sheets. The sheets are then placed into the oven. Thebaker will also help customers and assist other bakery staff.DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Prepares dough and bakes bread, rolls, biscuits, muffins, and similar items.Prepares and bakes cakes, cookies, pies, and other desserts.Operates computerized baking ovens, steamer oven, various sizes of mixers by utilizing machine control panels.Maintains refrigerated product.Operates the label machine and the scales.Cleans bakery, baking equipment, and machinery.Maintains maximum standards of sanitation and safety including temperature controls, pull dates, and compliance with health codes.Follows department procedures and standards for quality and consistency of the finished products.Assists in training and directing the work of food service workers, apprentices, clerks, and other employees assigned to the bakery area.Adheres to all company and bakery operations, standards, policies, and procedures.Customer service as needed.Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.EXPERIENCE:1-3 years as a fully skilled BakerGrocery Baker experience is a plus.Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to: preparation, handling and serving food.
