Senior Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical DesignerLocation: Austin, TX or San Antonio, TXEmployment Type: Full-TimeIndustry Focus: Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing (MEP) Engineering / Data CentersSalary Range: $140,000 - $170,000 based on experiencePosition OverviewOur client is a Texas-based Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing (MEP) engineering consulting firm delivering complex electrical infrastructure solutions across advanced technology facilities and large-scale commercial developments.They are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer or Senior Electrical Designer to support the design and delivery of electrical systems for data center projects. This role focuses on designing high-capacity power infrastructure and coordinating electrical systems within multidisciplinary engineering teams.The position is open to either a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or a Senior Electrical Designer with strong electrical design experience. The ideal candidate brings a strong consulting engineering background, experience designing building electrical systems, and the ability to lead electrical design efforts across multiple project phases.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of electrical systems supporting data center facilities.Design power distribution systems, electrical infrastructure, and building electrical systems.Prepare detailed electrical schematics, drawings, and construction documentation.Coordinate electrical system designs with Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing (MEP) teams, architects, and project managers.Ensure designs meet industry codes, client requirements, and engineering standards.Conduct engineering analysis to optimize system performance and reliability.Support projects through multiple phases including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.Stay current with advancements in data center electrical infrastructure and electrical engineering technologies.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.8+ years of experience in electrical system design within consulting engineering or building systems environments.Experience designing power distribution and building electrical systems.Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar electrical design tools.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication and collaboration skills.Preferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure.Experience with Revit / BIM coordination.Experience working on data center or large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.Experience leading electrical design efforts or managing electrical scopes on projects.Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.Project Types / Industry SectorsData center facilitiesTechnology infrastructure developmentsHigh-performance commercial facilitiesLarge-scale building infrastructure projectsCompensation & BenefitsSalary range $140,000 - $170,000 based on experienceHybrid work scheduleCompetitive benefits packageOpportunity to work on large-scale data center and technology infrastructure projectsSchedule & LocationHybrid work modelOffice locations: Austin, TX or San Antonio, TXFull-time permanent position
