This role blends:Electrical design + construction documentationDiscipline coordinationClient-facing communicationQA/QC executionMentorship and technical guidance to developing engineers/designersThis is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to progress toward lead-level responsibility-without leaving technical design behind.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership Support & CoordinationManage project timelines, deliverables, and communication between internal design teams and clientsCoordinate with internal disciplines (mechanical/plumbing, structural, civil, etc.) and external partners to ensure complete design integrationProvide project consultation related to schedules, deadlines, site surveys, punch lists, building codes, and engineering standardsElectrical Design & DocumentationProduce electrical design deliverables aligned with project scope, specifications, and budgeted hoursDevelop complete electrical construction documents suitable for permitting, including:power planslighting planspanel schedules and circuitingone-lines and risers (when applicable)details and equipment coordinationPrepare accurate engineering specifications and design documentation within project parametersResearch and evaluate engineering solutions consistent with project requirements and constructability expectationsQA/QC and Technical AccuracyExecute QA/QC procedures consistently and accuratelyCoordinate drawing quality and accuracy across disciplines and tradesMaintain drafting/engineering standards and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvementClient-Facing Communication & Professional DocumentationRepresent the engineering team in client meetings throughout design and constructionMaintain professional project documentation (meeting notes, coordination items, client responses, etc.)Assist with proposal preparation and engineering agreementsMentorship & Team SupportSupport onboarding, mentoring, and oversight of junior engineers and designersProvide guidance on:drafting standardscoordination workflowsengineering documentation expectationsprofessional project execution habitsBilling & Project AdministrationEnsure timely billing submission for assigned projectsFollow established standards, procedures, and work practicesCollaborate on continuous improvement initiatives to streamline delivery and reduce waste/costRequirements (Must-Haves) - Clear Bulleted SectionTo be considered, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred)5+ years of professional electrical engineering experience (building systems preferred)Strong knowledge of:building codesengineering standardsconstruction processes and workflowsAbility to interpret and produce construction drawingsProficiency with:AutoCADRevitStrong communication and documentation skillsStrong understanding of drafting standards and trade coordination across disciplinesPreferred Qualifications (Highly Valued)EIT certification strongly preferredPE license (or PE track) a major plusExperience in client-facing coordination rolesAbility to lead portions of design delivery with limited oversightCompensationEstimated starting salary range: $85,000 - $115,000 (DOE)Final compensation is based on experience, technical capability, design leadership scope, and credentials (EIT/PE).
