Custodian (Swing Shift)

DescriptionReed College seeks two (2) full time Custodians to join our team responsible for cleaning assigned campus spaces. This position will also move furniture and equipment and support set up for special events on campus. This is a full-time, non-exempt, union position, with work hours of Monday-Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Pay for this position starts at $20.69 per hour. Additionally, there is a $0.75 per hour shift differential for being assigned to the Swing Shift. Pay offers are subject to the terms of the current SEIU Local 49 union contract. Occasional lifting of up to 51 poundsWhat You'll DoRead, understand, and follow written instructions, labels, and safety data related to chemical and cleaning solutions.Clean your assigned buildings on campus, including dusting, wiping, and vacuuming of all offices and rooms. Clean and disinfect bathrooms and kitchen areas. Restock supplies.Perform deep cleans when you find areas that need it.Collect all the trash and recycling from your buildings.Perform a wide variety of floor cleaning tasks, such as vacuuming, spot cleaning and shampooing carpets, damp mopping, stripping and refinishing floors.Be a team player. Help out by filling in for others while they are away.Participate in a start-of-shift meeting each day.Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs.Be an advocate for safety. Follow all safety procedures and make sure that others do, too.
