Senior Structural Designer - Corrugated Packaging

Hood Container Corporation is seeking an experienced Structural Designer to join our Design Center in Lincolnton, NC. This Designer will utilize their skills to support the corrugated converting operation at one of the fastest growing corrugated manufacturers in the U.S! The Designer will work collaboratively with sales, operations, and customers to create packaging designs, prototypes, and samples. Key ResponsibilitiesUtilize Artios CAD to design all forms of POP displays, graphic packaging, and industrial packagingUnderstand and interpret documents such as packaging design specifications, operating instructions including training and procedure manualsCreate mock-ups/samples for customer approval and validation including providing layouts for CAD lines and print positioning as requiredApprove cutting dies and generate corresponding mylars for productionDevelop distribution and in-store setup instruction sheets for displays and retail packaging to support client educationMaintain process of recording, specifications, and revisions to provide accuracy.Accompany Sales and creative teams on design-related meetings and presentations as neededMaintain supplies as needed for job functions: mock-ups, mylars, samples, etc.Ensure design outputs and creative execution meet manufacturing specifications and budgetsExperienceThree or more years experience in graphic, pre-press, or structural designExperience working with design software, such as, Adobe CS-6, Artios CAD, Impact CADExperience with Adobe Creative Suite required and 3D Modeling/Blender plusProficient with Microsoft O365, including Outlook, Word, & PowerPointFamiliarity with ISTA, ASTM, or other packaging test standardsExperience working in the corrugated industry preferredEducationBachelor's Degree in Graphics, Packaging Science, Industrial Design or equivalent **Include your portfolio as an attachment or link within your resume**Why you'll love working at Hood ContainerCompetitive pay & benefits: We offer a base salary starting at $70,000, a quarterly bonus program, and a comprehensive benefits package to keep you healthy and happy.Caring & Empowering Company Culture: Supportive & collaborative team dedicated to seeing you unbox your potential to help make a difference & make customers happy.
