Lead Test Engineer Location: Scottsdale, Arizona Type: Contract Job #87500 Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Lead Test Engineer position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will serve as a technical leader within a cross-functional engineering team responsible for the integration, verification, and validation of complex embedded systems supporting tactical communications programs. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (or Master's degree plus 6 years of experience). Due to the nature of the work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Location: Scottsdale, AZ Position: Lead Test Engineer (On-site) Contract: 12 - 24 months with possibility of going direct Pay: $65.48/ hour Schedule: First / Second Shift CLEARANCE: No security clearance is required; however, due to the nature of the work performed within our facilities, candidates must be U.S. citizens. In this role you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to: Provide technical leadership for a cross-functional engineering team responsible for the integration, verification, and validation of complex embedded systems within a Unified Test Framework (UTF) environment. Lead and mentor a team of integration and test engineers, providing technical direction and ensuring accountability for milestone execution. Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test strategies for embedded systems and tactical communications solutions. Architect test solutions that validate system and program requirements through rigorous verification and validation methodologies. Establish and enforce best practices for test automation, continuous integration, and reporting. Plan and lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and internal testing assessments. Design detailed test plans covering functionality, performance, and reliability requirements. Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python 3.9+. Coordinate integration activities across hardware, firmware, and software teams to ensure seamless system functionality. Define and maintain integration procedures to ensure proper component interaction and system performance. Support Agile development practices and test execution cycles. Create and maintain test documentation including plans, procedures, and test reports. Maintain accurate records of test execution, results, and defect tracking. Develop Requirements Object Models (ROMs) aligned with program execution requirements. Conduct performance reviews in accordance with established engineering processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field plus 6 years of relevant experience. Experience leading 3-5 engineers, including accountability for milestone execution Expert-level experience with object-oriented programming and Python scripting. Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and methodologies. Proven experience with hardware/software integration testing. Hands-on experience using test equipment such as signal analyzers, signal generators, and USRPs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with engineering teams, leadership, customers, and vendors. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Knowledge Skills And Abilities: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration. Familiarity with embedded systems development and testing. Experience with requirements management and traceability tools. Background supporting defense or aerospace programs. Recognized technical subject matter expertise in multiple technical areas. Ability to quickly learn new technologies and manage increasing technical complexity. Strong team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and mission success. Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and technical growth.
