Then this could be the next step in your career.Create the solutions that will enable a better tomorrowWe are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support our North American team. You will work on exciting infrastructure projects across our bridge, marine, and tunnel market sectors, joining a professional team known for technical expertise, design leadership, project management, and specialized engineering.Your key responsibilities will be to: Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and project managers for analysis and design of foundations for bridges, marine structures, and large infrastructure, supporting all project phasesPerform advanced soil-structure interaction, geotechnical, and dynamic analysis using finite element software, and execute geotechnical/structural designUtilize industry-standard software for deep and shallow foundation design, providing recommendations to structural team membersAnalyze and design earth retaining structures, conduct slope stability analyses, and determine settlementPrepare design deliverables, offer detailed geotechnical design recommendations, and ensure quality control validation of calculations, drawings, and specificationsImplement design best practices, ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements, and conduct site visits and client interactions as neededYour skills. And you never get set in your ways, but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.On top of that, you will have:A M.S. or higher degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, focusing on the design of deep foundationsA Professional Engineering License (P.E.) or can obtain the same within 6 months of employmentA min. of 10+ years' experience working as a geotechnical engineer, with an emphasis on soil-structure interaction analysis and engineering designs of bridges, tunnels, or marine structuresExperience and proficiency with finite element software (PLAXIS 2-D and 3-D or FLAC)Familiarity with US standards and codes (IBC, AASHTO, API, FHWA, NAVFAC, USACE manuals, etc.)The ability to collaborate with various technical disciplines, including structural engineers, environmental specialists, BIM, and CADD teams.A place to work and so much moreAt COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and livable world.
