Beverage Program Supervisor

OverviewThe Beverage Program Supervisor is a hands-on, hourly leadership role responsible for leading beverage training and upholding beverage standards across all cafe locations. This role serves as the company-wide point person for barista onboarding, skill development, and quality control, ensuring every drink reflects the brand's standards for consistency, execution, and hospitality.In addition to training, the Beverage Program Supervisor plays a key role in developing and maintaining an exceptional, house-made beverage program spanning specialty coffee, tea, matcha, seasonal beverages. This role blends deep beverage expertise with coaching, documentation, and operational excellence, supporting teams across locations, reinforcing standards, and troubleshooting execution and equipment issues to ensure consistency company-wide.ResponsibilitiesBeverage Program Development & QualityRefine, execute, and evolve a cohesive beverage program including specialty coffee, tea, matcha, seasonal drinks, house-made components, and an expanding alcohol programWorks with our Bakehouse Team to create scalable recipes, specs, and preparation standards that uphold quality, consistency, and cost targets across all locationsSet and maintain standards for coffee extraction, brewing methods, tea and matcha preparation, and beverage presentationConduct regular quality checks and troubleshoot recipe execution, equipment maintenance/issues, and workflow issuesCollaborate with leadership to curate local beer, wine, and spirits that align with the brand and communityTraining, Leadership & ConsistencyServe as the company-wide lead beverage trainer, leading onboarding and hands-on training for new hires across all beverage programsDesign and facilitate ongoing barista education, skill-building sessions, and professional development to elevate technique and confidenceCreate and maintain training materials, recipes/specs, and beverage documentation to ensure consistent execution across locationsCoach and mentor baristas on hospitality at the bar, flavor understanding, beverage knowledge, and presentation standardsPartner with store leadership to reinforce brand standards, identify performance gaps, and provide feedback and retraining as neededWork with leadership to ensure proper handling, storage, service standards, and compliance for all beverage programs, including alcohol Qualifications3-5 years of specialty coffee and tea experience, including hands-on barista work in high-quality café environmentsExperience with developing alcohol programs (beer, wine, spirits) preferredProven track record of upholding and enforcing brand standards across beverages, service, and presentationAdvanced knowledge of espresso, brew methods, dialing in, and beverage quality controlExperience training, coaching, and developing baristas and beverage teamsWorking knowledge of espresso machines, grinders, and bar equipment, including maintenance and troubleshooting Strong palate, attention to detail, and clear communication skillsHas the ability to travel between café locations as neededWhat We OfferCareer Growth: Opportunities for professional development and career advancement as our cafe continues to expand.Dynamic Work Environment: Work in a fun, supportive, and dynamic environment where we take our work seriously but have fun while we do it.Employee Benefits: 401k, PTO, Sick Time, Health/Dental/Vision Insurance, Food/Beverage Discounts and more.About UsWe believe in more than just serving exceptional food and drink, we believe in fostering a community where great people, comfort, and quality converge.The Buttery is many things: a great local eaterythe village bakery & patisseriean exceptional specialty coffee shopall wrapped in a unique retail environment We are a communal gathering place that fosters care and warmth through great hospitality in our customers' lives.
