About the JobSummary:The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for cross-training and operating the Harris Shear, Baler, as well as varies pieces of heavy equipment in the yard. The Heavy Equipment Operator will support operations through the operation of various shearing and baling equipment. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of heavy machinery, as well as performing light maintenance. Maintain inventories of the various departments.Perform light weight maintenance on varies pieces of heavy equipment (i.e. changing table bearings, greasing, etc.)Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment. Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.Additional duties may be assigned by management. Qualifications:High School diploma or GED is preferred. Industry experience in scrap, metal preferred.At least two (2) year experience being an operator.Basic understanding of hydraulic and electric systems. Prior experience with hand tools, preferred, but not required.Ability to work inside or outside as required.Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habitsWork Hours:This position will work a Monday - Friday 45+ hour work week.
