Regional Chief Engineer - Colwen Hotels

Colwen Hotels is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Regional Chief Engineer to lead engineering operations across an assigned region of hotels. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced hospitality engineering leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across multiple properties to drive operational excellence, safety, and asset preservation.In this role, you will serve as the technical leader and strategic partner to hotel leadership teams, providing guidance, support, and oversight to Chief Engineers while ensuring that engineering operations across the region are performing at the highest level. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves position that requires both strategic oversight and hands-on involvement. This position reports to the Corporate Director of Engineering.If you are passionate about hotel operations, preventative maintenance, capital project execution, and building strong engineering teams, we would love to hear from you.What You'll DoAs Regional Chief Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of hotel facilities across your assigned region.Key responsibilities include:Provide leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight to Chief Engineers across multiple hotelsGuide and direct engineering and maintenance operations across select-service, extended-stay, and full-service propertiesPartner with hotel General Managers and Operations leaders to ensure high standards of property condition and guest experienceRecruit, interview, hire, and develop top engineering talent, including Chief EngineersLead preventative maintenance programs and ensure consistency across the portfolioOversee work order systems, maintenance logs, and engineering reporting standardsEnsure compliance with OSHA, ADA, and safety regulationsMonitor and manage regional vendor relationships and service contractsProvide oversight and guidance for capital projects, renovations, and major repairsReview and support property capital expenditure (CapEx) planning and budgetingServe as a technical expert and problem-solver for complex mechanical, electrical, and structural issuesTechnical ExpertiseThe ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on knowledge of hotel systems including:HVAC systemsElectrical systemsPlumbing and mechanical systemsBoilers and refrigeration systemsChillers and cooling towersWater treatment systemsPneumatic and building control systemsCompressors and mechanical equipmentGeneral building trades including carpentry and structural maintenanceWhat We're Looking ForSuccessful candidates will bring a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership ability, and operational discipline.Core competencies include:Strong leadership and team development skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationAbility to analyze issues, make decisions, and take action quicklyProven ability to work collaboratively with General Managers and operational leadersStrong organizational and time-management skillsA proactive mindset with a strong sense of urgency and accountabilityExperience & Qualifications5-10 years of hotel Chief Engineer experience or multi-property engineering leadership experiencePrior experience supporting multiple hotel properties preferred1-2 years of leadership or management experienceProficiency with Microsoft Office and standard hotel engineering systemsStrong technical knowledge of building and mechanical systemsAdditional RequirementsThis role requires an individual who is comfortable working in a dynamic hospitality environment.Ability to travel and stay overnight when necessaryAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical inspection dutiesComfortable working in mechanical environments and varied conditionsWillingness to work flexible schedules when operational needs requireWhy Join Colwen Hotels?Colwen Hotels is a rapidly growing hospitality management company with a portfolio of hotels across multiple states.
