Landscape Technician

Major Areas of FocusLandscape Technicians (LT) are front-line workers who work under the direction of a Crew Leader. They diligently work hard to complete the physical work tasks assigned to them. They make sure the work gets done safely, efficiently, and with quality. They endeavor to show respect to their assigned crew leader and follow instructions carefully. They may also receive direction or training from a Production Manager or Field Supervisor. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may also be assigned:Client ManagementProfessionally represents East Coast Facilities, Inc. always.Able to recognize when they do not have the answer for the client and let them know they will find out or get the Crew Leader involvedKeeps the Crew Leader aware of all client concerns and communication on the job siteMaintains a positive, responsive, and flexible attitude to all clientsSafety ManagementMaintains and promotes safe working conditions in the field alwaysFollows company procedures on discipline if any safety rules are brokenHave zero preventable accidentsImage ComplianceMaintains clean, neat, and professional image through the use of approved ECF uniforms and by monitoring & maintaining proper employee actionsEquipment ManagementIs accountable for neglect and abuse of assigned equipmentGeneral QualificationsCan pass an illicit drug testCan pass a criminal background checkComply with business ethics, applicable laws, and regulationsMaintain confidentiality of proprietary informationIf applicable drive company vehicles as directedOperate various types of equipment and machinery associated with this job descriptionHas a minimum two-year apprenticeship in one or more of the following job sub-categories:Professional landscape maintenance operationsProfessional landscape construction servicesLandscape repairs, restoration, and remediationLicensed arbor care and tree trimming servicesLandscape irrigation repairs and maintenancePerform other assigned tasks related to landscape managementWinter Season Operations (if applicable)Plow snow using trucks or loadersShovel snow using hand shovels or snow blowersApply salt and other de-icing agents to paved surfacesAssist with pre-storm preparedness Assist with post-storm cleanup and restockingWork Environment/Physical RequirementsWork in/or about situations near direct automotive trafficWork near or about natural bodies of waterWork with various types of work liftsAble to work overtime or extended shifts if required by ManagementAbility to work in extreme conditions - working temperatures may be between 0 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of timeAbility to work in extreme cold or wintry precipitationAbility to lift and carry 50 lbs.
