McCall Thomas Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Environmental Specialist (Permitting & Compliance) to join our team.Work location: Moncks Corner, SCSchedule: Monday - FridayAs a McCall-Thomas Environmental Specialist (Permitting & Compliance), you will serve as an in-house technical expert responsible for managing water-related environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and front-end environmental due diligence for company projects. This role applies engineering and environmental science principles to ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations with a specific focus on construction stormwater and wastewater/ water.The responsibilities for this role include:Obtain/manage wastewater/water environmental permits, including application preparation, submission, tracking, renewal, and close-outEnsure ongoing compliance with permit conditions, regulatory requirements, and environmental standardsConduct front-end environmental due diligenceCoordinate and manage and/or review Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) during project planning and acquisition stagesOversee environmental reviews related to threatened and endangered species, habitat impacts, and environmental constraintsCoordinate and/or review archaeological and cultural resource surveys as required by federal, state, or local agenciesSupport NEPA and state-level environmental review processes, including documentation and agency coordinationPrepare and review environmental drawings, calculations, and supporting technical documentationConduct site assessments, field inspections, and data analysis to support permitting and compliance decisionsPrepare technical reports, Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), environmental assessments, and compliance documentationCoordinate with agencies on permitting requirements, inspections, and meetingsWork closely with engineering, construction, operations, and legal to integrate environmental requirements into project design, schedules, and executionAdvise project teams on environmental impacts, regulatory constraints, and mitigation measuresSupport development of bid documents (RFPs, IFBs) and environmental scopes of work for consultants and contractorsOversee environmental monitoring programs and maintain accurate compliance recordsManage compliance with permit conditions, inspection schedules, and reporting deadlinesAssist in developing and improving internal environmental policies, procedures, and pollution prevention programsAdvise on environmental impacts associated with construction and infrastructure projectsMaintain organized, audit-ready environmental documentationWhat Will You Need:Ability to work in the US without sponsorshipValid driver's license with a clean recordBachelor's Degree in an environmental, chemistry, biology, or other sciences with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience is required.
