Location: San DiegoReports To: CHRODepartment: OperationsPosition SummaryMad Engine Global is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, operation, and safety of our facilities to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment. This role is responsible for managing building systems, coordinating maintenance and vendor services, and leading workplace safety initiatives.The Facilities Manager will play a critical role in ensuring operational continuity across our facilities by implementing preventive maintenance programs, overseeing building infrastructure, and maintaining strong Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) practices. This position requires a proactive leader who can manage multiple projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of workplace safety while supporting Mad Engine's operational goals.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFacilities Operations & MaintenanceOversee day-to-day facilities operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety systems, and building infrastructure.Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure optimal facility performance and minimize downtime.Coordinate and respond to maintenance requests, repairs, and facility-related emergencies.Conduct regular building inspections and facility assessments to identify maintenance needs and safety risks.Maintain accurate documentation of facility assets, maintenance records, and service logs.Manage space planning, office moves, and facility layout improvements as business needs evolve.Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)Lead and maintain workplace safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable safety regulations.Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related concerns, inspections, and compliance requirements.Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans, safety procedures, and evacuation protocols.Investigate workplace incidents and coordinate root cause analysis and corrective actions.Promote a strong safety culture through employee awareness and training initiatives.Vendor & Contract ManagementManage relationships with facility maintenance vendors, contractors, and service providers.Coordinate vendor work schedules and ensure services meet quality and safety standards.Oversee service agreements, contracts, and maintenance schedules.Lead vendor bidding processes and evaluate proposals for facility improvements or projects.Financial & Project ManagementAssist with preparing and managing facility budgets, maintenance expenses, and capital improvement projects.Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational efficiency.Oversee facility improvement projects, renovations, and equipment upgrades.Collaboration & CommunicationServe as the primary point of contact for facility-related matters across departments.Collaborate with leadership, operations, warehouse teams, and external partners to support facility needs.Provide clear communication regarding maintenance schedules, safety procedures, and facility updates.Additional ResponsibilitiesMaintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to building operations and workplace safety.Maintain accurate documentation for safety programs, inspections, and facility maintenance activities.Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.Minimum Qualifications5+ years of experience in facilities management, building operations, or maintenance managementExperience managing workplace safety programs and regulatory compliance (OSHA)Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systemsExperience managing vendors, contractors, and service agreementsAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and facilities management systems (CMMS preferred)Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related fieldOSHA certification or EHS-related trainingExperience in warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environmentsProfessional certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP)Working ConditionsThis role may require occasional lifting, walking facilities, inspecting equipment areas, and accessing mechanical spaces. The position may also require after-hours availability in the event of facility emergencies.
