DescriptionPosition Summary:The dispensary professional is responsible for guiding patients through the process of selecting the appropriate medicine for their needs and by providing education of medical cannabis products. The dispensary professional is responsible for one-on-one interaction with patients from the time they walk in the store to the time they leave with their purchase and will provide excellent customer service while making the patient feel empowered and confident in their decision.Essential Job Functions:ü Register customer into the system using their patient ID card and photo identification used to obtain the card, verify the recommendation and status of the patient ID card with Metrc registry; confirm all required profile fields are complete; check guest into the POS systemü Using OARRS, verify days' supply available when checking patient or caregiver in, when recommending a medication to avoid over administering medication, and at check out to make sure they are not being oversold ü Adhere to any doctors' notes in the system for dosing, medication type, and administration of medicationü Provide education to patients on product types, uses, and dosage to ensure maximum benefit for their qualifying condition and symptomsü Confirm medication pulled matches the medication entered into the POS by checking product labels against the patients' cartü Make certain all labeling requirements are completed at check outü Assist patients in person and by phone with inquiries and concernsü Adheres to and educates patients on Ohio laws and regulations as it relates to the Board of Pharmacy guidelines including methods of consumption and administrationü Assist in daily inventory of cannabis and non-cannabis inventoryü Responsible for communicating any activity or observations that are out of the ordinary.ü Ensure compliance with applicable state and local laws through all stages of the sale of medical cannabisü Provide support to the General Manager, as requested, to ensure daily operations of the dispensary run smoothly, properly, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulationsü Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAAü Other duties as assigned by your supervisorQualifications:ü Must be at least 21 years of ageü Must have a high school diploma, or the equivalentü Must be able to pass all background check requirements and obtain licensing as set forth by the Division of Cannabis Controlü Retail or hospitality experience, preferredü Must be able to work opening, closing, weekends, and holidaysü Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without an accommodationü Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English languageKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:This section outlines the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the Dispensary Professional to be successful in their role.
