Our mission is to engage customers and empower makers to deliver precision.Job DescriptionTitle: Quality Technician Reports to: Quality & Safety Manager Job Purpose: Responsible for the final inspection of manufactured parts and providing support to the machinists throughout the inspection process.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Review customer contract requirements and compare to manufacturing documentation to ensure customer obligations are identified and met.Complete first article, in-process and final inspections on manufactured product to customer requirements utilizing calibrated equipment and document results per processCalibrate and maintain the precision measuring devices per defined work instructions and ensure that the calibration due dates for employee, customer provided, and/or company owned equipment are currentReview and complete all documentation required for shipping of product to the customer, thus certifying that all requirements are met.Process non-conforming product and assist in determining root cause per standard workAssist in training fellow employees in order to further the development of the workforceReview customer specifications to establish correct inspection criteriaPerform preventative maintenance on inspection equipmentCompletes all job-related paperwork and production reporting to accurately record time and attendance and inventory Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area using 6S guidelines and safety standards Completes internal 6S audits to scheduleComplies with all safe practices, policies, and regulationsPerform other duties as assigned or requestedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 4 years experience in Quality Control or MachiningKnowledge of manufacturing methods and logistics administration requiredExperience with optical comparator and profilometer requiredFirsthand knowledge of blueprint reading, including an advanced understanding of GD&T and military specificationsLean manufacturing and quality system experience preferred (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485, and AS9100D preferred)CMM operation and troubleshooting skills are required; Zeiss Calypso preferredExperience with ERP and quality software interfaces preferredBasic computer knowledge and a strong math backgroundExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience in Microsoft Office SuiteTeam player who enjoys challenging situationsAdditional InformationGTC Machining, LLC offers a drug-free workplace along with a competitive salary and benefits package.
