Location: Tampa, FL (or surrounding area) Industry: Agriculture / Food & Beverage / CPG Employment Type: Full-timePosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for a growing, operations-driven business within the agriculture/food & beverage space. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls while partnering closely with leadership to support business growth and operational decision-making.The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing, agriculture, food production, or beverage environments and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end/year-end closePrepare and review accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAPManage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisEnsure proper cost accounting, inventory controls, and margin analysisMaintain and improve internal controls, policies, and proceduresOversee cash flow management and financial planningCoordinate with external partners including auditors, tax advisors, and banking institutionsSupport ERP/accounting system maintenance, integrations, and process improvementsPartner with leadership to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic decisionsEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldAccounting experience, including Controller or Assistant Controller responsibilitiesExperience in agriculture, food & beverage, manufacturing, distribution, or CPG environments strongly preferredStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingHands-on experience with inventory, cost accounting, and operational financeProficiency with accounting/ERP systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)Advanced Excel skillsStrong attention to detail with the ability to work independentlyExcellent communication and leadership skills Ascendo is a certified minority owned staffing firm, and we welcome and celebrate diversity.
