Position OverviewThe Corporate Controls MES Engineer will be a member of the Daisy Brand Corporate Controls Engineering Department with a focus on delivering business intelligence services, BI software development, and Power BI reports utilizing Daisy Brand's Control Systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Microsoft Power BI servers/platforms. They will work on Controls and Automation projects to support installation of new Control System MES functionality and upgrade of existing Control System MES functionality at all of Daisy Brand's facilities. The Corporate Controls MES Engineer will report directly to the Corporate Controls MES Engineering Team Leader. The Corporate Controls MES Engineer will work closely with the Corporate Controls Engineering Manager, Team Leaders, and Senior Engineers to align on Standards and Processes for managing the Control System MES. Mentoring will be provided for gaining an understanding of the design and standards of the Daisy Brand Controls System Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Travel requirements: Up to 25% as needed.ResponsibilitiesThe Responsibilities of the Corporate Controls MES Engineer include, but are not limited to providing research services, application development, documentation, training, troubleshooting, and maintenance for the following: AVEVA/Wonderware's Archestra Control System including graphics, troubleshooting, objects, the necessary scripts, and MES applications as needed to provide the needed MES functionality and information for operations. Modify and/or create some Microsoft Visual Studio C# applications. AVEVA's Operations, Performance and Quality MES modules. AVEVA Work Tasks Business Process Management (BPM) software. Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) that is based on AVEVA MES modules especially AVEVA's Work Tasks Business Process Management (BPM) software. AVEVA's BI Gateway to consolidate and aggregate data from different sources, making it manageable and accessible including data warehouse functionality. Rockwell PLCs as needed to provide the needed MES data and functionality. Microsoft Power BI Report Server (on-premises report Server) and Microsoft Power BI Power Platform (Cloud Based Services, off-premises reporting). Power BI data modeling, reports, dashboards, and infrastructure to meet the business needs and provide insights into key metrics. Migration of SSRS and Tableau reports to Power BI. Data feeds to external partners using Microsoft Sequel (SQL) Server Integration Services (2019+). Microsoft Server, Microsoft SQL Server (2019+) and Microsoft Reporting Services. Gathering and understanding of business requirements for data visualization and analysis. Collaboration with engineers and analysts to acquire, clean, and transform data for reporting purposes. Creation of complex DAX calculations and measures to support data analysis. Data security and compliance with best practices.Qualifications Bachelor of Science in an Engineering related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. 7+ years working within a Controls & Automation Engineering role in the Food & Beverage, Consumer Goods, or similar Industry is required. Ladder Logic Programming skill within Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix) is required. Advanced HMI Development is required, preferably within Wonderware (AVEVA) ArchestrA System Platform. Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming Principles is required. Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio C#. Experience with Ethernet/IP Communication within a Plant Control System is required. Expertise with Microsoft Servers, SQL Server and SQL database systems is required. Expertise with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Excel is required. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills is required. Ability to write, update and troubleshoot existing complex SQL queries is required. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team are required. Adaptability to changing business requirements is required. Excellent Formal and Informal Communication Skills, Collaboration Skills, Professional Attitude, and Professional Appearance are required. Strong Computer Skills (MS Office) are required. Experience with AVEVA MES, or a similar MES platform, is preferred. Experience with .NET programming environment is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Power BI Report Server (on-premises report Server) and Microsoft Power BI Power. Platform (Cloud Based Services, off-premises reporting) is preferred. Proficiency in Power BI development, including data modeling, reports and dashboards is preferred. Proficiency in Tableau is preferred. Strong understanding of data modeling and data visualization concepts is preferred. Knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for creating calculations is preferred. Familiarity with data warehouse concepts is preferred. Knowledge of ETL processes and data modeling is preferred. Familiarity with other data visualization tools is preferred.
