Director of EngineeringPay: $140,000-$165,000/year + bonus + ESOP retirement contributionReports to: VP of OperationsOverview:The Director of Engineering leads all manufacturing engineering activities, including metal forming, heat treatment, NDT, CNC machining, new part development, and R&D. This role oversees engineering strategy, process improvement, project management, and development of robust, scalable manufacturing processes.Key Responsibilities:• Lead engineering team and provide technical oversight in metal forming and precision machining.• Drive process improvements, new part planning, R&D initiatives, and lean manufacturing efforts.• Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and engineering performance.• Support tooling design, customer-driven engineering, proposals, and technical communication.• Ensure alignment of R&D with customer requirements and technology capabilities.• Assist with qualification, validation, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.Qualifications:• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.• 15+ years in manufacturing engineering; 5-10 years managing engineering teams in AS9100 aerospace.• Experience with metal forming (swaging, flow forming, forging), heat treat, NDT, CNC machining, and 4/5-axis precision machining.• Familiarity with Inventor, Mastercam, Vericut, and lean principles (6S, VSM, SPC, Standard Work).• ITAR verifiable; comfortable working on the shop floor and with customers.
