Title: 1st ShiftMaintenance Technician (Level 1 and 2)Department: MaintenanceLocation: Albert Lea, MNReports to: Maintenance ManagerStatus: Full Time; ExemptWage Range: $25.00 - $36.00Schedule/Attendance: 1st Shift Maintenance works Monday-Friday and starts at 5:00 AM with a varying end time. These hours may vary depending on projects that need to be completed. On-Call: Maintenance Technicians are required to participate in a rotating on-call schedule for nights, weekends, and holidays. On average, a Maintenance Technician can expect to be on-call up to 4-5 times per year. SUMMARYUnder the leadership of the Maintenance Manager, the 1st Shift Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining all physical aspect requirements for equipment and facilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following essential duties and responsibilities is dependent upon licensing and experience.General MaintenanceComplete routine preventative maintenance including, but not limited to:Grease, lube, and adjust equipment as necessaryTroubleshoot and repair equipment as necessarySubmit orders for parts and maintain proper equipment logsPlumbingInstall new water lines, gas lines, air lines, and drain lines as needed for moving old or installing new equipmentRepair water lines, air lines, and drain lines, above and below groundRepair sinks, toilets, water softeners, water heaters, dishwasher, and furnacesElectricalTroubleshoot and repair forklifts, pallet jacks, scales, mixers, printers, processing equipment, etc.Replace switches, plugs, cords, outlets, motors, circuit boards, relays, starters, contactors, etc.ConstructionBuild new walls, remodel doorways, pour cement curbs and floors, repair block walls, patch floors, and repair damaged wallsInstall, repair, and move pallet rackingBoilerOperate and maintain boilers and feed water systemsTroubleshoot and repair boiler as neededComplete yearly boiler rebuild/inspection. A minimum of 2nd Class B team engineer license is required.Truck/Trailer MechanicsRepair wiring for lightingRepair/replace mud flaps, fenders, walls, load locks, air leaks, batteries, and alternatorsTroubleshoot electrical on refrigeration unitCleaningTake apart, clean, inspect, and reassemble Urschel blades weeklyTake apart and clean membrane heaters weeklyGroundsRemove snow from sidewalks, steps, loading docks, and roof as neededSalt sidewalks and parking lot as neededPaint structures attached to the building and fire point letters as neededPlant shrubs as neededPerform other duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSThe following qualifications are required for both Maintenance Technician Level 1 and 2.High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)Machine repair experienceAttention to safety and detailGood communication and time management skillsAbility to lift 50+ poundsAbility to stand, bend, and/or kneel for extended periods of timeAbility to work in hot, cold, or noisy environmentsAbility to work at heights or confined spacesAbility to work overtime as neededPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSThe following preferred qualifications may determine Maintenance Technician Level 1 or 2.Associates Degree and/or Vocational SchoolFacilities maintenance experienceAbility to pass a respirator examModerate mathematical experienceBoiler License (all levels)Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) LicenseWelding CertificationHVAC CertificationForklift LicenseOSHA Safety CertificationMechanical systems repair experience (motors, pumps, conveyors, and gearboxes)Hydraulic and pneumatic systems troubleshooting experienceElectrical systems knowledge (motors, wiring, and control panels)Preventative maintenance experienceBlueprint and schematic reading experienceWelding and fabrication skillsHigh-speed production equipment experiencePackaging line experienceRobotic systems experienceStrong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively as a teamGood communication and time management skills
