This role has an electrical-focused scope and works closely with avionics and assembly technicians to mature electrical build processes, improve harness and PCBA readiness, and resolve production issues under an AS9100-compliant QMS. You will help transition products from late stage prototypes into stable production by improving documentation, optimizing test workflows, designing simple electrical fixtures, and supporting first-article builds. This position is ideal for an engineer with a strong electrical foundation who enjoys hands-on manufacturing, problem-solving, and working directly on the production floor. Required Duties and Responsibilities: Electrical Manufacturing Support & Documentation * Create and update work instructions, wiring diagrams, and electrical assembly workflows, ensuring accurate, repeatable production. * Redline documentation during builds and support correction of discrepancies with Quality and Design. * Support the creation and updates of electrical BOMs, routers, and item cards. * Assist technicians by interpreting schematics, PCBA documentation, and harness drawings. Production Build Support * Provide hands-on support on the manufacturing floor to troubleshoot wiring issues, connector/cable assembly challenges, PCBA installation concerns, and electrical test anomalies. * Participate in first article electrical builds, collecting feedback and ensuring manufacturability of electrical subsystems. * Serve as a bridge between design engineering and production when electrical build issues arise. Test & Fixture Development * Support ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure) execution by assisting with test setups, logging issues, and helping refine supplemental test instructions. * Design simple electrical fixtures, breakout cables, and test aids to support repeatable electrical testing and harness verification Continuous Improvement * Identify opportunities to streamline electrical assembly steps, reduce rework, and increase test clarity. * Support small CI initiatives such as reducing cable build times, improving harness routing consistency, or standardizing connector assembly workflows. * Contribute to ECN/ECR updates for electrical components and drawings. Technical Breadth & Collaboration * Interpret electrical schematics, PCBA drawings, harness assembly documentation, and avionics integration diagrams. * Work with electro mechanical assemblies involving harnesses, connectors, LRUs, PCBs, avionics hardware, and simple structural components. * Apply basic mechanical understanding where needed to support integrated electro mechanical builds. Required Skills/Qualifications: * 3-4 years of experience in electrical or electromechanical manufacturing, aerospace, unmanned systems, or similar hardware environments. * Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, PCBA documentation, and connector/harness drawings. * Experience supporting technicians on the production floor, including performing redlines and troubleshooting build issues. * Familiarity with electrical hardware such as PCBs, wiring harnesses, connectors, avionics modules, and test equipment. * Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working hands-on with hardware. * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Preferred Skills/Qualifications: * Experience and training with Altium is not required, but will be considered a strong plus. * Exposure to mechanical CAD for simple fixture design, preferrably SolidWorks. * Exposure to Visio Professional. * Experience with ATPs, electrical test workflows, or bench testing. * Experience in regulated, low-volume high mix aerospace or defense manufacturing.
