Job Description

V2X OVERVIEW: We are seeking a talented and accountable Senior Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplined Hardware Development Team supporting DoD ground and airborne applications. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who demonstrates initiative, sound judgment, and thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments. You will take ownership of electronic hardware designs--from concept through delivery--while collaborating with cross-functional teams and adapting to evolving project needs. As a key contributor, you will specify, design, integrate, and verify complex circuit card assemblies (CCA) and modules, using state-of-the-art design and simulation tools. This includes working on hardware/firmware with industry interfaces and embedded systems, as well as integrating power, low voltage control signals, and digital and analog signals for functional systems. The position involves guiding ECAD personnel, performing simulations and analyses, and supporting test and delivery activities. Effective communication and collaboration, both independently and within a team, are essential. Key Responsibilities: * Develop, review, and deliver complex circuit card assemblies (CCA), modules, and hardware solutions, from block diagrams/requirements through production and integration. * Implement schematic capture, design, and simulation prior to hardware execution. * Conduct component selection and guide electronic computer-aided design (ECAD) personnel through layouts and technical drawing creation. * Leverage commercially-available and government-sourced equipment for rapid prototyping and integration. * Perform root cause and corrective action analyses, troubleshoot design and installation errors, and support development documentation. * Integrate, analyze, and test hardware for both ground and airborne platforms, with a focus on environmental robustness and EMI/EMC compliance per military standards. * Utilize SPICE or equivalent simulation tools for modeling electronics behavior; use analysis tools like MATLAB or Mathcad to assess circuit robustness. * Present technical design reviews and technical documentation to leadership and project stakeholders. * Collaborate using Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, OneNote, Azure DevOps, Excel, and e-mail. Required Qualifications: * US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. * Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related STEM field with at least 6 years of related engineering design experience, or a Master's degree with 5 years experience. * Demonstrated experience taking electronics design from high-level concept or block diagram to completed hardware, including verification via test and integration. * Proficiency in digital circuit card design, analog circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, and analysis. * Experience designing with microcontrollers/microprocessors, FPGAs, memory, and industry interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, UART, and integrating COTS solutions. * Experience using circuit simulation tools (SPICE, LTSpice, QSpice, PSpice or similar). * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative communication tools. * Strong planning, organization, and time management skills; ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently and within diverse teams. Desired Qualifications: * Hands-on experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB design tools. * Experience in modeling and simulation environments such as MATLAB, or Mathcad. * Demonstrated project or team leadership skills, including presentation of technical reviews. * Design and analysis experience with power converters, embedded systems, and analog electronics. * Experience with military specifications (such as MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464) and design for environmental/EMI/EMC considerations. * Familiar with embedded test techniques, including design for test, design margin analysis, and considerations for production-scale manufacturing. * Experience supporting system integration, field testing, and troubleshooting in both lab and deployed environments. Additional Info: Frequent onsite presence (minimum three days per week) in Indianapolis, IN is required.
