The Controls/Automation Leader is responsible for maintaining, planning, and implementing, processes and equipment leading to stable and capable production/business performance. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:Maintain Safety - Quality - Delivery - Cost - Environment - Moral initiatives.Supervise maintenance, production, and salary personnel in assigned areas of responsibility.The ability to work a flexible work schedule, daily overtime, multiple shifts, weekends and holidays.Enhance machine/equipment capabilities as they relate to Safety, Throughput, Uptime, Cost, and Quality.Develop Subject Matter Expertise in assigned areas of responsibility:Automotive Pretreatment process and equipmentAutomotive Full Body Electrodeposition ProcessAutomated and Manual Automotive Sealer Application AutomationFanuc M20 iA Robots and associated vision systemM710 ic RobotsFanuc R 30iA controllersPowder Paint Distribution and Control SystemsFanuc P250 ib RobotsFanuc RJ 30 iB ControllersIndustrial Burners and Controls related to:Industrial Full Body Paint Cure ProcessRegenerative Thermal OxidizersChampion Continuous Improvement Initiatives related to product quality, process optimization, and maintenance performance.Resolve issues associated with assembly automation, process quality, workstations, robotics and automated equipment; troubleshoot PLC controls, electrical components, servo-drives, motors, wiring and panels.Capture and document changes and update prints as needed; lead, coordinate and facilitate trouble shooting electrical and process issues.Lead problem resolution initiatives as they relate to equipment downtime, throughput improvement or any safety concerns. Establish, maintain, update and administer electrical and mechanical control plans; participate in all aspects of simultaneous engineering efforts to improve current processes and new projects; and perform any related tasks as needed.Lead Development and Optimization of Paint Process Equipment, converting ideas into tangible measurable manufacturing gains / improvements.Coordinate Professional Maintenance and breakdown activities.Standardized Maintenance Procedure (SMP) - creation and continuous improvementBasic Qualifications:High school diploma or GED5+ years manufacturing experience in automotive assembly and/or machining environmentMust have the ability to troubleshoot electric, hydraulic and pneumatic systemsCapable of reading and updating electrical and pneumatic schematicsProficient in all Microsoft Office productsThe ability to work a flexible work schedule, daily overtime, multiple shifts, weekends and holidaysProficient in the following PLC Architectures: Allen Bradley LOGIX5, Guard Logix, Studio5000 and Panelview PlusPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology, and/or advance degree creditSelf-directed and motivated Effective problem-solving skillsDemonstrated proficiency in high volume Automotive Industry Paint ProcessCollaborate with cross functional groups to resolve problems and attain continuous improvement objectives.
