Benefits Specialist (Hybrid | St. Petersburg, FL)Superior Group of Companies (SGC) Full-Time | Hourly (Non-Exempt) | In Office Wed/ThursSuperior Group of Companies is seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our Corporate HR team in St. Petersburg, FL. This is a hands-on, operational role supporting 750+ U.S. employees across 5 EINs.This position reports directly to the Benefits Manager and plays a critical role in managing daily benefits administration, invoice reconciliation, and leave support.If you are structured, detail-oriented, process-driven, and enjoy helping employees navigate benefits - this role is for you.What You'll OwnThis role is highly dynamic - priorities shift daily - so strong organization and multitasking skills are essential.Key responsibilities include:Process new hire enrollments, qualifying life events (QLEs), and terminationsMaintain benefits data in HRIS and vendor systems (ADP experience strongly preferred)Review deductions, eligibility, and payroll data for accuracyServe as a primary point of contact for employee benefits questions (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, etc.)Support Annual Enrollment, including employee communications and system updatesPerform eligibility audits, billing reconciliations, and vendor file reviewsAssist with FMLA, non-FMLA leaves, ADAAA, PWFA, and Workers' Compensation trackingHelp manage compliance activities such as ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, OSHA, and annual postingsSupport wellness programs, employee recognition, and company eventsPartner closely with HR, Payroll, and external vendors to resolve issues quickly and accuratelyThis role requires someone comfortable jumping between reconciliation work, employee questions, and compliance tasks throughout the day.What We're Looking For2-4 years of corporate benefits administration experienceExperience in a corporate HR environment preferredHands-on experience with benefits processing and billing reconciliationExposure to FMLA case management (preferred)Experience working in an HRIS or payroll system (ADP preferred)Professional communication skills and strong employee-facing presenceHighly structured, organized, and process-driven mindsetMulti-state leave experience is a plus but not required.The Ideal Candidate IsDetail-focused and analyticalCalm and professional under pressureComfortable researching answers before respondingMotivated to learn and growExcited to build long-term expertise in BenefitsWork EnvironmentHybrid schedule (in office Wednesday & Thursday)8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ESTSt. Petersburg, FLFull-time, hourly (non-exempt)Why Join SGCHybrid work environmentOpportunity to grow and expand benefits expertiseStable organization with diverse business units**Along with a competitive compensation package, the company offers an excellent benefits package, including Medical, Dental, a defined contribution plan (e.g. 401(k)), life insurance, long-term disability, a flexible spending account (FSA), and paid maternity/paternity leave.
