Job Title: Contract Specialist Location: Washington DC Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and motivated Contract Specialist to support the acquisition and procurement functions for our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing pre-award and post-award contracting activities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Key Responsibilities: * Develop, solicit, evaluate, negotiate, and administer complex contracts for goods and services. * Conduct market research and cost/price analysis to support acquisition strategy. * Prepare and issue Request for Proposals (RFPs), Invitations for Bid (IFBs), and other solicitation documents. * Evaluate contractor proposals and assist in source selection activities. * Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific acquisition policies. * Prepare and execute contract modifications, terminations, and close-outs. * Provide guidance and technical assistance to program offices and stakeholders. * Maintain accurate and complete contract files and documentation. * Interface with legal, finance, and technical staff throughout the procurement lifecycle. Basic Requirements: * Education: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution. * Coursework: Completion of at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following disciplines: * Accounting * Business * Finance * Law * Contracts * Purchasing * Economics * Industrial Management * Marketing * Quantitative Methods * Organization and Management * Experience: [Insert experience requirements, e.g., 1-3 years in procurement/contracting preferred.] * Certifications: Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) desired but not required. Desired Qualifications: * Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific procurement regulations. * Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. * Proficiency in contract writing systems and procurement software (e.g., PRISM, FPDS-NG). * Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines. * Experience working in a government or federal contracting environment.
