Metro's Department of Planning and Performance is seeking a Program Coordinator Energy & Environment, focused on energy, metrics and cost efficiency for Metro's facilities and fleet. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to put your expertise to work to plan and support delivery of meaningful improvements for safe, efficient transit and mobility in the National Capital Region. This role will focus on planning and support for the delivery of energy efficiency investments in collaboration with Metro stakeholders that are guided by data and prioritize cost-effectiveness. Focus areas for work include topics such as - energy efficiency upgrades, utility data monitoring/analysis, energy use benchmarking, managing energy audits, design/construction of efficiency upgrades and performance metrics tracking. The successful candidate will be a motivated individual with proven expertise in project management, data analysis, problem solving, and/or stakeholder engagement. If you're highly organized, able to work both collaboratively and independently, and skilled in building relationships and communicating complex information, we encourage you to apply **.** **Minimum Qualifications** **Education** + Bachelor's degree majoring in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Science, Public Policy, Transportation, Urban Planning or related discipline + Coursework in energy, environment or related topics **Experience** + A minimum four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in environmental policy, public administration, transportation planning, project management, business administration, or a related technical field, which must include work on energy and/or environment projects/programs + A Master's degree in urban planning, energy, environmental management, or related technical field can be counted as two (2) years toward work experience **Certification/Licensure** + LEED Green Associate or AP (BD+C preferred) and/or ISI Envision Certified within the first six months of hire and maintained for the duration of time in job **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience as a manager of professional staff **Medical Group** Satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position, if required. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of this position either with or without reasonable accommodations. **Summary** The Program Coordinator, Energy and Environment provides strategic support, guidance, and management for a broad range of projects to achieve programmatic goals. This includes but is not limited to research, analysis, stakeholder engagement, initiative planning, implementation, deliverable coordination, performance evaluation and monitoring. The incumbent builds relationships with many internal and external stakeholders to support the deployment of capital and operating initiatives and drives organizational change management and best practice adoption. **Job Duties** + Coordinate tasks and deliverables across multiple projects that support Authority programs. This includes but is not limited to research, analysis, stakeholder engagement, implementation, change management, evaluation and monitoring. + Develops and maintains project scopes, work plans and budgets, involving all relevant stakeholders, to ensure technical feasibility and align with goals and objectives. Tracks and reports on progress and support the management of external consultant resources. + Evaluates business processes, policies, procedures, forms and templates for areas of improvement; develops and launches updates to account for energy and environment objectives. + Builds and manages relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and partners at all levels of the organization to facilitate implementation of projects. Organizes, attends and participates in stakeholder meetings; responds promptly to requests for information, documents and follows-up on actions and decisions from meetings. + Supports projects targeting energy efficiency and green building certifications like Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and Envision, including management of documentation review, and spearheading opportunities to improve projects. + Analyzes transportation industry trends, identifying risks and opportunities with new technologies and evolving best practices, and provide summarized information for the team. + Prepares presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders, as needed, that provide clear information, visualizations and graphics communicating the regional benefits. + Establishes technical requirements, business outcomes, and metrics that will help ensure successful future implementation of projects. + Drives organizational change management, project innovation, and best practice adoption + Prepares and manages annual capital and operating budgets; develops, submits, and approves requisitions, invoices, initial cost estimates (ICE), scopes of work (SOW), and other procurement documents; leads compensation equity analyses for office and presents results to managements **Other Duties** + Maintains and promotes awareness and accountability with safety policies and procedures while performing job functions.
