Learn more at .Position OverviewNCF's Legacy Giving Specialist operates as an NCF subject matter expert (SME) to analyze and accept testamentary gifts from giver's estates, provide the proper legal language and process to effectuate such testamentary gifts to NCF, and to provide critical support, guidance and training to properly complete and execute NCF succession plans, all consistent with NCF's offerings, processes, procedures and policies. The Legacy Giving Specialist primarily serves as a member of the NCF Legacy Giving Team by managing day-to-day workflow and communications with RM teams, other operational teams, givers and their families, and their external professional advisors, as needed.This position will primarily serve in two separate but related functions dealing with (1) NCF Succession Plans, and (2) NCF Testamentary Giving, working closely with and serving as a fully cross-trained backup to the other Legacy Giving specialist positions on the Legacy Team. Allocation of primary responsibilities between such positions will be determined by the Director, Legacy Giving.The role is part-time, targeting 20 hours per week.This position is hybrid based out of the office in Alpharetta, GA. Reports to: Director, Testamentary GivingManagement/Supervision: NoDuties & ResponsibilitiesTestamentary Giving and Succession PlanningConnects and engages with givers, external professional advisors, and members of the NCF network in a natural and relational way regarding testamentary giving and succession planning opportunities.Assists the NCF Corporate Communications and Marketing teams on testamentary giving and succession planning materials, as requested.Gains a deep understanding of Legacy Giving Team processes, procedures and policies to enable diligent application in the course of normal work, while also documenting and evaluating same to recommend ongoing improvements and efficiencies.Develops a deep understanding of various Succession Plan offerings, including Core, Plus and Custom solutions and their related parameters, benefits, processes, costs and deliverables.Develops competencies in the execution, activation and full completion of Succession Plans within NCF processes and back-office systems.Works with internal teams to research, identify and accept testamentary gifts, as noted above, and once received and released by the Director, initiates the activation of the related succession plan associated with the gift and fund.Training & EducationPartners with Legal, Marketing & Offerings, and Network Relations to plan, develop, and provide training on testamentary giving and succession planning to internal teams and RM teams, as directed.Counsels and trains internal teams, particularly RM team members, on the details of each Succession Plan offering to enable them to properly and accurately communicate with their givers in the selection of the most appropriate Succession Plan to meet their needs.Estate SettlementsWorks closely with external financial institutions and internal teams on estate settlements involving beneficiary designations on assets to obtain, complete, and submit required forms and documentation to fully secure testamentary gifts in as timely a manner as feasible, in collaboration with the Director, Legacy Giving and/or the Legacy Services Team.Collaborates with the Director, Legacy Giving on estate settlements involving trusts and estates on required steps needed to secure NCF's testamentary interest.Partners with the Director, Legacy Giving on all estate settlement gifts on necessary steps on a case-by-case basis to mitigate NCF's risk, as determined by the Director.Team Coordination & Internal CollaborationMeets regularly with NCF's Director, Legacy Giving and/or the Legacy Giving Team to discuss administrative and other needs of the Legacy Giving Team and identify where assistance may be provided.Exudes a positive attitude and works collegially with other NCF team members to create momentum and excitement regarding the breadth of offerings of the Legacy Giving Team.Works closely with internal teams to identify and report challenges and issues in existing systems for resolution, incorporating changes into current documented processes and procedures.Other Duties and ResponsibilitiesOther matters as directed by NCF's Director, Legacy Giving.Experience and SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and have reliable attendance.
