We are Responsive We have Integrity We are Dynamic We exhibit ExcellencePRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms inspections of in-process builds on vehicle components, sub-assembly system, and complete assemblies to include torque measurement and documentation according to establish procedureApproves or rejects items and documents inspection results as requiredResponsible to work in a cross functional environment utilizing Polyworks, PC-DMIS, and Programming skills as applied to an Articulating Romer ARM and CMMResponsible for performing precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materialsComplete reports of Receiving, In-process, and Final Vehicle inspection to communicate resultsCommunicates with internal customers as required to resolve inspection, engineering, and manufacturing challengesPerforms Final Vehicle Inspections to established documentation and training routine and documents resultsReviews Quality Assurance Procedures and assists or performs internal audits, as requiredPerforms other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSHigh School diploma required with knowledge of trigonometry and additional specific training on precision measuring instruments and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)3-5 years' experience in the Quality fieldMinimum 2 years Torque measurement experience (preferably in vehicle assembly)Minimum 2 years of in-process vehicle build monitoring and documentationMinimum 2 years recent CMM Programming (preferably using PC-DMIS)Minimum 2 years recent Romer Portable CMM inspections (Preferably using Polyworks)Experience performing inspections using hand tools and precision instrumentsProficient reading blueprints and GD&T interpretationsStrong organizational and workload planning skills with ability to juggle multiple prioritiesVehicle Inspection experience helpfulBlueprint reading, CAD interpretation and GD&TTraining for digital torque monitoring systems (Datamyte and/or Atlas Copco)Must have knowledge of mechanics, machining, and casting methodsIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft OfficeMust possess sound written and oral communication skillsPHYSICAL EFFORT Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focusHearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicateHand-Eye Coordination: must be able to regularly coordinate one's eyes with one's fingers, wrists, or arms to move, carry, or manipulate objects or to perform other job-related tasksManual Dexterity: must be able to regularly make quick, accurate, skillful, and coordinated movement with hands and arms to grasp, place, move, or use objects such as phone, computer, and other office equipment, tools, or controlsAgility: must be able to regularly bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, or legs to perform job tasks, including the ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, Company's property surrounding facility, or additional work areasClimbing / Kneeling: must be able to occasionally climb, kneel, bend over, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, with balanceLifting: must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistancePhysical Strength: must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groupsStamina: must be able to occasionally exert oneself physically over long periods of time, including performing repetitive or strenuous tasks as well as standing and sitting for long periodsWORKING CONDITIONSPhysical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. The Employee must be able to perform job functions in an environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noisesTeamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplaceListening Skills: This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accuratelyAbility to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary; this position should be able to follow instructions competentlyMethodical approach: Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production lineConcentration: This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes.
