Health, Environmental, Safety & Security Manager

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS/HESS) Manager to lead and oversee all safety, environmental, and compliance programs across our operations. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations while driving a strong safety culture, minimizing risk, and supporting operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of regulatory expertise, leadership experience, and hands-on involvement in industrial or manufacturing environments. Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance and identify corrective actions Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs Ensure all operations comply with OSHA, environmental regulations, and internal policies Maintain OSHA 300 logs and oversee regulatory reporting (including Tier II reporting) Research and interpret safety and environmental regulations to ensure ongoing compliance Training & Program Development Develop and deliver EHS training programs and safety initiatives Lead the creation and deployment of safety communications and awareness campaigns Establish and maintain HESS policies, standards, and procedures Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and risk assessments Incident Management & Continuous Improvement Lead incident investigations and perform root cause analysis Manage injury reporting, case management, and Workers' Compensation processes Partner with leadership on modified duty and return-to-work programs Monitor safety metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies Project & Operational Support Provide technical safety guidance to project management teams Ensure project sites meet all regulatory and safety requirements Participate in team meetings and maintain regular on-site presence Coordinate schedules, submittals, and project documentation as needed HESS Program Leadership Lead HESS audits, benchmarking, and best practice initiatives Manage HESS data collection, reporting, and recordkeeping Support SMETA audits and government reporting requirements Develop familiarity with ammonia plant operations and safety safeguards Preferred Skills & Experience Strong knowledge of OSHA, environmental compliance, and industrial safety standards Experience with HESS management systems and audits Ability to analyze data and drive safety performance improvements Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or large-scale project environments Education & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Engineering, or related field preferred Minimum 8 years of experience in large-scale commercial, government, or industrial environments At least 4 years in a safety leadership/management role Current certifications required: OSHA 30-Hour (Construction or General Industry) First Aid & CPR Work Environment Combination of office and on-site industrial/project environments Regular exposure to manufacturing or plant operations Must be able to maintain consistent on-site presence
