An opportunity exists for three paraprofessionals to support students within a behavioral classroom setting, focusing primarily on autism and multiple disabilities support (MDS B) in an elementary school environment. These positions are based in Reading, PA, with the assignment following the school calendar from ASAP through June 2026. Key Responsibilities: Assist students exhibiting challenging behaviors such as hitting, biting, spitting, punching, throwing, and screaming Provide support for eloping behaviors and ensure student safety Perform some lifting and assist with toileting/diapering as needed Work closely with teachers to implement behavioral supports and instructional plans Qualifications: Minimum of one year experience as a paraprofessional, preferably in an MDS/autism behavioral setting Must reside within 30 minutes of the school district Commitment to a full schedule of 35 hours per week PA Paraprofessional Qualification by meeting one of the following: 48 college credits, associate degree or higher, CDA, or PDE Credential of Competency If qualification is not met at hire, must complete the 7-module PDE certification process and submit para certification within 60 days Completion of all required PA Department of Education clearances within 14 days of hire Additional Details: In-person interviews are conducted weekly on a first-come, first-served basis Assignments and locations may vary based on organizational needs Candidates must be comfortable with the physical demands and behavioral challenges of the role Full compliance with onboarding and HR approval processes is necessary for placement This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with complex needs in a supportive educational environment.
