This role partners closely with business leaders, product teams, and IT delivery organizations to ensure technology investments align with business strategy, scale across retail and healthcare operations, and support long-term agility.You will lead enterprise architecture practices across retail stores, e-commerce, animal welfare hospitals, and corporate systems, guiding modernization efforts including cloud adoption, application rationalization, integration platforms, and data architecture.Key ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Architecture & StrategyDefine and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap, ensuring alignment with business strategy and transformation initiativesEstablish architecture standards, principles, and reference models across applications, data, integration, and infrastructureEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that drive scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiencyTransformation & ModernizationLead application and system modernization initiatives, including legacy replacement, cloud migration, and platform consolidationGuide architecture decisions supporting omnichannel retail, digital commerce, in-store systems, and healthcare service platformsEnsure architectures support regulatory, privacy, and security requirements, especially within veterinary and healthcare operationsCross-Functional LeadershipPartner with business executives, product owners, and IT leaders to translate business capabilities into technology solutionsInfluence and guide solution architects and delivery teams to ensure consistent architectural outcomesAct as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology strategy and investment decisionsGovernance & Delivery EnablementEstablish and lead architecture governance processes to ensure adherence to standards while enabling speed and innovationReview and approve solution designs for major initiativesBalance short-term delivery needs with long-term architectural healthPeople & Practice LeadershipMentor and develop architecture talent across the organizationBuild a scalable enterprise architecture practice that supports ongoing growth and transformationQualificationsRequired10+ years of progressive IT experience with 5+ years in enterprise or domain architecture leadershipExperience leading architecture for large-scale retail, e-commerce, or multi-location service organizationsStrong background in application architecture, integration patterns, cloud platforms, and data architectureProven ability to lead complex, cross-enterprise transformation initiativesExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholdersPreferredExperience supporting healthcare, veterinary, or regulated service environmentsHands-on experience with modern cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Familiarity with microservices, API-first design, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integration platformsExperience in organizations undergoing large-scale digital transformation#LI-CS1#CORPPetco Animal Supplies, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
