Our products are on the front lines of elevator construction worldwide - and our people are known throughout the industry for talent, dedication, and superior customer service.Position Summary:The Equipment Technician is responsible for repairing, servicing, and assembling rental and customer owned equipment efficiently and accurately to ensure safety, reliability, and order fulfillment. This role also performs general facility maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC tasks.Essential Duties include but are not limited to: Promotes and demonstrates Wurtec's core values (dedicated, hardworking, ambitious, willing to accept responsibility, and integrity). Perform (or commission) facilities preventive maintenance, repair, or improvement work.Ensure that facilities meet all OSHA regulations, with direction from the safety manager. Troubleshoot and repair of Wurtec & customer owned rental equipment ranging from basic mechanical tools to complex assemblies. Perform preventive maintenance on all production and support equipment as needed. Troubleshoot and repair (or commission repair of) production and support equipment in such a way to minimize lost production time, while meeting or exceeding safety rules. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives. Full-time/in-person attendance is an essential function of this job. All other duties as assigned. Ability to work with all departments to understand their equipment & facilities needs and provide solutions. Strong computer skills, data entry, and Microsoft Office. Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.Behavioral Skills: Detail oriented, flexible, and exhibit effective prioritization and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment. Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Works effectively both independently and as a team. Utilizes creative thinking skills to identify problems and develop solutions. Works in an effective manner and follows directions.Education & Experience 1 to 3 years of experience in a related position Experience in a manufacturing facility (preferred) High School Diploma or GEDWork Environment:This role primarily operates in a warehouse environment that is not climate controlled and the noise level is described as moderate. The nature of this role described as heavy work and constant lifting to 10 lbs., frequent lifting up to 100 lbs., and occasionally over 100 lbs. The job holder is exposed to uneven ground, confined spaces, vibration, oils, fumes, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and high places. The use of limbs is required to operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and cranes. This role requires standing for long periods of time, alternating between sitting and standing, crawling, climbing, kneeling, neck rotation, pushing, reaching, stooping/twisting, climbing, crouching, driving, grasping/gripping, pulling, pushing, stooping / twisting, crouching, driving, grasping/gripping, picking/pinching, reaching overhead, and squatting. Near and far visual acuity, and the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech is required. This role is not eligible to considered for remote work.
