Within each SUN Community School, the collective efforts of the school community, youth, parents, local businesses, faith communities, libraries, school districts and community organizations create a network to offer programs and activities to uplift students' academic engagement & emotional development, meaningful family engagement, and resource navigation to access available community resources. Position SummaryThe goal of the Family Resource Navigator / Data Support and Adult Engagement Specialist program is to support families in achieving economic security, with a focus on improving housing stability, by reducing barriers in navigating systems. By focusing efforts and resources at regional SUN Community School hubs this program will create a "front door" to reach the most impacted families (families living with low incomes, those who are unstably housed, families of color, and students with chronic absenteeism). The program aims to build skills and connections so that families know how to access the resources they need in the future, while providing a more direct link to immediate needs like rental assistance to support families at risk of homelessness. This role will support two key aspects of the FRN program - Data Entry and Adult engagement. This position will support the existing FRN team in entering new data from program participants into WellSky, in addition to cleaning up errors in the existing data that has been entered. This position will support the existing FRN team in planning and hosting adult engagement events such as educational workshops, resource fairs and community advocacy events. Essential FunctionsWorks as part of the SUN Community School team and within the school-based team to build trusting relationships with families from multiple schoolsWorks with the SUN Site Managers and the Family Resource Navigator (FRN) team to plan and implement adult education events Support FRN team with entering and cleaning up data entry in WellSkySupport with communicating to FRN clients at sites where language support is needed or requestedSubmit documentation and referrals for all applicants in the designated outreach zone, in collaboration with FRN colleaguesWork closely with FRN colleagues to ensure that all clients are contacted and data is tracked in the database Community responsive communication, outreach and engagement with students, parents, families, school staff, and community membersConduct client assessments to determine eligibility for social service support programs and other resources available in the community, in person at multiple schools in the designated outreach areas.Refer families to community resources that address and assist in their universal household needs. Facilitate completion of application forms and document collection and review for internal program referrals. Support families to navigate or access internal/IRCO programs as well as external/community systems of care (for example: housing programs, rent and utilities assistance, food resources, public benefits, employment systems and/or school-based resources) Maintains files and documentation as required Perform administrative work in a timely and accurate manner, including report writing, data entry, timesheets, tracking participant enrollment, referrals, attendance and completion of internal IRCO forms for the HR and Finance DepartmentsConduct follow-up assessments for all participants who have exited the program Develop and maintain a centralized Information & referral tracking system for the school communities that are served. Attend required training and meetings conducted by IRCO, IRCO SUN Team, Multnomah County, the school/district and community work groups, in person, as assignedMeet performance and contract expectations related to FRN outputs & outcomes Accepts other appropriate duties/responsibilities as assigned by IRCO SUN Manager or SUN Supervisor Effectively work with individuals of multibackgrounds Actively work to disrupt illegal or unlawful treatment based on race and systematic illegal denial of fair treatment through full participation program practice and implementationUtilize bilingual skills to support community focused communication with students, families, and clients in their preferred language, when possible.Secondary FunctionsWillingness and ability to meet staff at their home school location if different from work locationAbility to meet multiple, including conflicting deadlinesStrong analytical and decision-making abilities for related job functionsAbility to deal with distressed and demanding clients and employees in an effective mannerAbility to maintain a high level of confidentialityAbility to communicate with a variety of personality types and levels of the organization as well as with people outside of the organizationAbility to work flexible hours to meet the availability of clientsLead one-on-one and/or small group skill building workshops for caregivers in the community Distribute tactile resources to the community, when applicable.
