Currently I have an opening for a Scientist located in San Diego, CA (Sorrento Valley area). Details for the position are as follows: Job Description: Scientist I to join the Gene Therapy team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with new non-viral nucleic acid delivery tools for in vivo and ex vivo genome editing and gene therapy applications. This person will be engaged in the analysis of novel nanoparticle-based pharmaceuticals. Work at the direction of Analytical scientists to quantitate lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) encapsulating nucleic acids Analyze raw materials for LNP formulations Establish relationships between physiochemical characteristics of experimental nanoparticle formulations and their efficacy and safety Maintain detailed records of analytical data and Interface directly with other functional teams Share responsibility for basic lab management activities (supply ordering, instrument calibration, maintaining schedules) Qualification: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry Practical experience using analytical methods such as RiboGreen, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), and Zeta potential measurement is strongly preferred Prior experience with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is preferred Proficiency at formulating buffers is required.
