Position:Grounds Maintenance WorkerDepartment:Hollywood Bowl Operations FLSA Grade:Part-Time Non-ExemptPay Range: $18.50-$24.85Position Summary:The Grounds Maintenance Worker, reporting to the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor, assists in the daily maintenance, cleanup and preparations of the venue for events. Starting pay is commensurate with work experience.Position Elements:Help prepare site for openingAssist in the process of changing out the marqueeSweep, blow and hose down entire grounds, including theatre areaPlanting of new plants and plant care for existing landscapingCut grass, trim trees and assist tree crew with larger projectsSetup tables, tents, canopies and other items as neededKeep accurate time records and abide by the meal and rest break policyAssist other departments when necessary and as directed by a supervisor (such as: closing gates, unloading trucks, etc.)Respond to a wide range of customer service issues with sensitivity and careAssist with setting up vendor canopies, umbrellas, metal detectors, and assist with removal of bollards when needed General duties as assignedRelationships:Reports To: Grounds Maintenance SupervisorInteracts With: The public Co-workers Supervisors ManagersJob Requirements:Existing knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the following:Recycling policiesLayout of venue and groundsEvent times and program informationGeneral seatingAbility to:Work outsideBend, stand and walk (including hilly terrain and stairs) for up to duration of entire work shiftLift and carry up to 50 lbs on your ownLift and remove bollards (up to 150lbs/each) with the assistance of up to two other employees.Reviewed 01/25The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and the California Fair Chance Act.
