If you're energized by purpose-driven work and a values-led culture, we'd love to meet you.Position Summary:The Food Bank For New York City is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Manager to oversee all building related activities. You will be responsible for maintaining and preserving the good condition of the infrastructure, supervising maintenance staff, make necessary repairs and improvements as needed, ensure that all properties are maintained to provide the best and safest conditions for its employees and volunteers, and to maximize the efficiency and performance of its operations.The ideal candidate will be well-organized, reliable and dependable, able to multi-task, professionally mature, effective team leader, have basic knowledge of all phases of building maintenance to include: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and general carpentry, able to identify and solve problems, ability to work well and communicate with others, have computer knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft word, Excel, and power point, possess all relevant hand tools, possess a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle, ability to respond to emergencies during weekends and off hours if needed.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesPreventive maintenance on: HVAC systems & HardwareObtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed.Inspects life/health & safety systems and curb appeal.Responds to plumbing systems and hardwarePerforms outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required.Assist with electrical systems & hardwareGood communication skills, ability to manage a maintenance team and coordinate with external vendors.Manage assigned staff Perform other assigned dutiesQualifications: Education, Training, and Experience: Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience in one or more of the building trades.Knowledge of: Methods used in maintenance including basic knowledge of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, grounds keeping, appliance repair, and electrical wiring; standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities; safety practices and procedures related to the building trades; basic math skills.Skill and Ability to: Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools; read blueprints; review and identify projects needed to be serviced by outside contractors; follow oral and/or written instructions; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; maintain work logs; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.Superior ability in assessing and fulfilling staff needsPossesses basic hand and power tools.Excel, Word, Outlook experience.The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 annually.
