Job Summary:Delaware Valley University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track position in Crop Science and Sustainable Agriculture within the Plant Science and Landscape Architecture Department, beginning Fall 2026. Appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate education through high-quality teaching, experiential learning, curriculum development, and service activities that support the Department's mission and vision.zRequired Knowledge:Strong knowledge of:Sustainable crop productionSoil conservation and soil healthAnimal feed and forage productionFarm waste managementAgricultural building, machinery, and farming practicesTeaching Responsibilities:The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in crop science and sustainable agriculture, with an emphasis on crop production and soil health. Course assignments may include, but are not limited to:Fall SemesterField Crops IIFeed Grains and ForagesPasture-Based Livestock ManagementOrganic Food and FiberSpring SemesterField Crops IPrinciples of Sustainable AgricultureAgricultural Machinery (alternates with Agricultural Building)Summer (Optional)Farm Skills and KnowledgeSoil Health ManagementInstruction is expected to integrate lectures, laboratories, and experiential learning activities appropriate to the discipline.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:In addition to teaching, the faculty member will be expected to:Collaborate with faculty colleagues to design and implement curricular updates aligned with departmental goals and both traditional and non-traditional agricultural production practicesTeach at various levels within the discipline, as assignedRecruit, advise, and mentor students as neededPost and maintain regular office hoursRemain current in the field through professional development and scholarly activityServe on faculty committees as assigned or electedAttend faculty meetings, department meetings, and other required meetingsAssist with departmental needs and development, including outcomes assessmentEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in agronomy or a closely related field requiredDemonstrated experience teaching college-level lectures and laboratories with experiential learning componentsFarm or applied agricultural experience preferredRequired Skills and Abilities:Excellent oral and written communication skillsCommitment to undergraduate teaching and student mentoringOngoing commitment to faculty development and scholarshipEvidence of successful scholarly or professional activityApplication Process:Applicants should submit the following materials:Cover letterCurriculum vitae or résuméTeaching PhilosophyContact information for twoprofessional referencesAbout the University:Delaware Valley University (DelVal) is a private, comprehensive, nonprofit university educating students with a curriculum that emphasizes and requires experiential learning.
