PCU Nurse Job Details Location: Lorain, Ohio (zip 44053) - Northeast Ohio healthcare jobs Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown - 33 beds Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract Shift: 12 Hour Nights Shifts per Week: 3 Hours per Week: 36 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Estimated Weekly Pay: $1570 - $1680 Start Date: January 26, 2026 End Date: April 25, 2026 Scrubs: Navy blue Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Ohio or compact nursing state At least 2 years of recent PCU/Stepdown nursing experience BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification (required) Successful completion of Dysrhythmia Exam (study guide available) Ability to read and verify telemetry strips in EPIC once per shift Travel nursing experience not required PCU Nurse Responsibilities Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop individualized care plans Administer medications and manage cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, Insulin) Provide care for patients with cardiac telemetry, vascular, and med-surg needs, including post-cath and post-pacemaker Manage lines, drains, and devices: PICCs, dialysis catheters, PEG tubes, ostomies, foleys, chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs Support advanced airway modalities: tracheostomies, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, nasal cannulas Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and advocate for patients Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives Educate patients and families, coordinate care, and facilitate discharge planning Maintain professionalism and adhere to infection control protocols Discover rewarding travel nursing jobs in Ohio and experience the charm of Lorain's lakeside community.
