Primary Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Alternate/Related Job Titles: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Emergency Department RN ER Staff Nurse Trauma Emergency Nurse Emergency Care Registered Nurse Location: Burlington, MA Onsite Flexibility: Onsite Contract Details (Contract roles only): Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 3 Months Start: As Soon As Possible Pay Rate: $70/hr Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift (Every Other Weekend; 2 Holiday Shifts Required) Job Summary: The Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER) provides critical care to patients experiencing medical emergencies and trauma situations. This role supports a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center environment where nurses must quickly assess patient conditions, deliver urgent treatment, and collaborate closely with physicians and emergency care teams. The Emergency Department features a modern, state-of-the-art facility designed to support high-acuity care, including a 44-bed unit, advanced imaging services, behavioral health suite, and private treatment areas. The nurse will utilize EPIC electronic medical record systems to support patient documentation and medication administration while delivering high-quality emergency care. Key Responsibilities: Provide emergency nursing care for patients experiencing trauma, accidents, and acute medical conditions. Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize treatment based on severity and clinical needs. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and emergency staff to deliver coordinated patient care. Administer medications and treatments following emergency care protocols. Document patient assessments, treatments, and medication administration using the EPIC electronic medical record system. Support trauma and critical care cases in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment. Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in clinical status. Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage as required. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety procedures, and emergency care standards. Required Experience: Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse license. Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience. Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment. Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA). Experience using EPIC electronic medical record systems. Nice-to-Have Experience: Experience in high-volume emergency departments. Experience working in large hospital trauma centers. Experience supporting behavioral health emergency cases.
