Position Type: Student Support Services/Speech and Language Pathologist Date Posted: 3/25/2026 Location: UME Prep Dist Office Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)Position Overview: UME Preparatory Academy is seeking a qualified and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to support the delivery of speech and language services to students across multiple campuses. Under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), the SLPA will provide direct therapy, assist with screenings, and help document progress toward student communication goals. Key Responsibilities: Provide speech-language services as prescribed by the supervising SLP. Work with individual students or small groups to address speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. Prepare therapy materials and maintain student records. Assist with data collection and progress monitoring for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Communicate regularly with the supervising SLP regarding student progress and concerns. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all FERPA, IDEA, and district policies. Support a positive learning environment that encourages communication growth and student participation. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders. Current Texas licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA). Experience working with children in an educational or clinical setting preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Ability to travel between campuses if assigned to multiple locations. Working Conditions: School-based setting; may serve multiple campuses within the district. May require lifting and assisting students with physical needs. Regular interaction with students, staff, and families.
