Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift Travel Contract | Newark, NJ (07112) Night shift Pediatric RN travel contract in Newark, NJ - 13-week role supporting pediatrics and oncology patients; EPIC charting and chemotherapy experience required. Job Details Job Type: Travel Nurse / Contract Nursing Job Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 Location: Newark, NJ 07112 (New Jersey nursing jobs, NYC area access) Setting: Pediatrics Unit - general pediatrics, hem/onc, ortho, surgical Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 4/20/2026 - End: 7/20/2026) Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30) Hours per Week: 36 Patient Ratio: 1:5 Scrub Color: Navy Charting System: EPIC (EPIC experience preferred) Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (Sat/Sun) Required Qualifications Minimum 1.5 years of pediatric RN experience (Pediatrics RN, pediatric med-surg) Active New Jersey RN license or Compact RN license (required at time of submission) BLS, PALS, APHON certifications required NRP, OCN certifications preferred Chemotherapy / oncology nursing experience required Experience with general pediatrics, hem/onc, ortho, and pediatric surgical patients Ability to float to PICU and NICU as needed (critical care float experience a plus) First-time travel nurses accepted - pediatric travel nurse opportunities encouraged Key Responsibilities Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to pediatric patients across general, hem/onc, ortho, and surgical units Administer and monitor chemotherapy treatments; manage oncology symptom control and safe handling of chemo agents Perform pediatric med-surg duties: IV starts, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and pediatric dosage calculations Support feeding needs (bottle, breast, gavage), breastfeeding assistance, and handling breast milk Provide age-appropriate care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents Float to PICU and NICU for appropriate assignments based on skillset and unit needs Maintain infection prevention, isolation precautions, and safe clinical practices Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams Document patient care accurately using the EPIC charting system Why join this team: Work in a supportive hospital environment with diverse patient populations, strong clinical resources, and convenient access to New York City.
