The unit has 10 staff members. Day shift includes 3-4 Technologists, 3-4 RNs, and 1 Scheduler/Coordinator. Night shift operates on call. Patient ratios depend on the type of Interventional Radiology procedure performed. Typical equipment includes Discovery 740 IGS and EMR Meditech. Candidates without the required skills will not be considered for the role. Preferred or additional skills include PALS and Meditech experience. Typical procedures performed in this unit include biopsies, drain insertion, angiograms, peripheral vascular interventions, paracenteses, thoracentesis, and line placements. RNs are not required to scrub cases. The best personality fit is outgoing, a self-starter, team-oriented, and possesses a positive attitude. 1-2 nights of call per week and 1 weekend of call every 4-5 weekends may be required.
