Description Job SummaryWe are seeking aNurse Practitioner or Physician Assistantto join ourNeurosurgery team in San Antonio, TX . This role offers a comprehensive mix ofoutpatient clinic, inpatient care, and operating room first assist responsibilities . The ideal candidate will have experience in neurosurgery or a related surgical specialty and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide outpatient clinic care including new patient evaluations and follow-up visits Perform inpatient rounding, consults, and post-operative management Serve asfirst assistin neurosurgical procedures as needed Evaluate and manage patients with neurological and spinal conditions Order and interpret diagnostic studies including imaging and labs Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery plans Collaborate closely with neurosurgeons, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR QualificationsCurrent Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA) Previous neurosurgery or surgical experience preferred Experience withfirst assistor willingness to obtain training Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage complex patients Excellent communication and teamwork skills Schedule & CompensationFull-time schedule with a mix of clinic, inpatient, and OR responsibilities Call responsibilities may be required Competitive compensation based on experience Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, malpractice coverage, PTO, CME allowance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match
