This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in contract and agreement work, including leases, within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in real estate, finance, and contract law, coupled with excellent research, organizational, and communication skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts, agreements, and leases to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.Conduct legal research on federal, state, and local regulations affecting the mortgage and real estate industries.Support the legal team in analyzing and summarizing legal documents, including lease agreements, vendor contracts, and other transactional documents.Maintain accurate and organized records of legal documents and correspondence.Collaborate with internal departments, including Compliance, Operations, and Accounting, to address legal inquiries and provide guidance on contractual matters.Monitor contract execution processes and ensure timely follow-up with internal and external partners.Assist in identifying and mitigating potential legal risks.Stay up to date with changes in laws and regulations impacting the mortgage industry.Other assignments as needed.RequirementsJOB REQUIREMENTS Broad Knowledge & Experience: Strong understanding of contract law, real estate law, and basic principles of the mortgage industry.Above Average Skills: Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills. High level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.Demonstrated Ability: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Professional demeanor and strong communication skills.General Knowledge: Real Estate and/or Mortgage lending rules. Competencies: (individual contributor) Analytical, Integrity, Adaptability, Customer Service, Communication Skills, Initiative, Planning/Organizing, Professionalism, High Emotional Intelligence. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEDegree or Equivalent: Currently enrolled in an accredited law school with 2-3 years of completed legal education.Specialized Training: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.WORK ENVIRONMENTPhysical Demands: High computer work, office environment. Work Conditions: Fast paced environment with competing priorities.Temperament: High Emotional Intelligence with ability to manage difficult personalities.Salary Description $20 per hour
