Material Coordinator

Junior Buyer Pay: $25.00-$28 per hour 8:30 AM – 5 PM Duration: 3+ months, potential for temp-to-direct hire Location: San Jose  PURPOSE OF JOB: The Buyer Planner I is responsible for material planning and procurement. This role manages the materials requirements planning, purchasing and supplier relationship management. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage suppliers to reduce costs, improve quality, control inventories and ensure timely flow of materials. Bring ideas to Management proactively and be able to implement necessary process improvements. Manage inventories to ensure continuous production while maximizing turns. Generates RFQ’s for procurement of parts or services by quantity, pricing by lead time, special fees, expedite parameters, kanban, delivery quantity tolerance, and delivery on-time tolerance parameters, etc. Assist in the planning of recent schedules and inventory control parameters for the assigned products and services consistent with customer requirements or as arranged with requisitioners. Secures and analyzes quotations, negotiates prices and terms with suppliers. Follow up with suppliers to obtain necessary paperwork to process receipt of goods; i.e. incomplete Certificate of Conformance; Safety Data Sheet Required. Creates New Vendor Forms and Vendor Qualification Forms as needed for ASL and Item Master. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, works independently, displays initiative and solves problems with proficiency. This job description is not all inclusive. Incumbents may be required to complete other miscellaneous responsibilities as required. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 2 Year AA or equivalent years of experience in related field. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 1-3 years of experience in the Purchasing sector. Customer service experience would be highly desired and must be computer MRP literate. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Experience and intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel and Word and ERP Software.
