Then Adventure Camp might be the place for you!Adventure Camp is a nature-based outdoor day camp for campers in Pre-K through 5th grade. From bug hunts and forest games to creative projects and team challenges, every day is packed with fresh air, fun, and discovery.Camp Hours:Our camp day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Adventure Camp Instructors and Counselors are the heart of camp life. Instructors will lead a multi-age group of campers through daily adventures, helping create a place where kids feel safe, included, and excited to explore the world around them.This role supports the mission of Adventure Day Camp by building a joyful, adventurous camp community rooted in Safety, Respect, Honesty, and Belonging.What You'll Do at Camp Support the planning and implementation of daily camp activities and schedules. Lead games, hikes, nature exploration, crafts, and group challenges. Foster camper confidence, friendships, and a love of the outdoors. Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging environment throughout the day. Set up and clean up activity areas and shared camp spaces. Manage smooth transitions between activities, including snack, lunch, and rest times. Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating kindness, patience, and enthusiasm. Model and reinforce camp values through words and actions.Creating the Camp Experience Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where all campers feel a sense of belonging. Build positive relationships with campers and their families. Encourage teamwork, independence, and respectful behavior. Support positive behavior using consistent and fair guidance strategies. Contribute to a camp experience that campers are excited to return to each day.Who We're Looking For Be at least 18 years of age. Have prior experience working with children in a camp, school, or childcare setting (preferred). Demonstrate energy, creativity, and comfort leading groups of children outdoors. Work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with others. Remain calm, flexible, and adaptable to changing situations. Meet the physical demands of camp life, including standing, walking, and active outdoor play.Schedule & Commitment Positions are seasonal for the summer, with preference given to candidates who can commit to multiple weeks. Participation in staff training prior to the start of camp is required - Adventure Day Camp boot camp and Safe School training. Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential to camper safety and program success.Physical ConditionsCandidates must be able to manage the following conditions: Must be able to move safely over varied outdoor terrain, observe campers, and respond quickly in emergencies. Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 40 pounds. A non-smoking campus
