Here at Gulfeagle we are "Building a Career for YOU" Purchasing Administrator JOB SUMMARY: Provides support and performs analytical duties mostly pertaining to inventory control within the Purchasing Department. Assist the Director of Purchasing and the Purchasing staff as needed. Also works closely with the Accounts Payable and Accounting departments. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under direct supervision. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Partner with branches to open existing products and suppliers for purchases. Review new vendor set-up requests from branches to ensure all documents and policies are being followed. Challenge branches in the areas of supplier source, quantities, timing, etc. where applicable. Analyze purchasing initiatives from branches supporting delivery, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality goods and services. Prepares and presents recommendations of improvement opportunities and alternative courses of action to senior purchasing leaders. Consistently applies sourcing policies, procedures, and processes. Supply branches and other key functional areas with bulletins related to vendors, price increases, products, and other variables are affecting the business. Issue PO's to suppliers and track status until delivery. Partner with Inventory controller to manage branch inventory levels in adherence to company policies. Support Purchasing Director tracking vendor rebates. Track and maintain a repository of commodity activities. Use data to assist with making informed buys. Assist in departmental compliance audits, focusing on accuracy, documentation, and completeness. Other deliverables, projects, etc. per the direction of the Purchasing Director. Handle diverse tasks that need immediate attention. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications. Exercises moderate independent judgment with direction from supervisor. Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of supply chain management. Must be a US citizen or be authorized to work in the US. Highly organized and efficient at prioritizing workload. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A Bachelors' Degree is required for this role. At least 1-year direct material planner and/or direct material purchasing experience preferred.
