By connecting with us, you position yourself for opportunities that align with what you're looking for.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, program, and operate EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment.Load and unload workpieces and electrodes with precision.Monitor machine performance and adjust parameters to ensure quality and efficiency.Perform in-process and final inspections using various measurement tools.Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of EDM machines and work areas.Troubleshoot and resolve minor operational issues or machine malfunctions.Recommended Qualifications2+ years of direct experience operating Wire and/or Sinker EDM machines in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Ability to perform machine setups, load programs, adjust parameters (e.g., power, pulse duration, gap), and troubleshoot EDM processes.Experience with precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators for in-process and final inspection.Strong understanding of various materials (e.g., tool steels, carbides, exotic alloys) and their EDM characteristics.Bonus QualificationsProficiency in CAD/CAM software for electrode design or advanced programmingExperience operating CMM or other advanced metrology equipmentBasic machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills for EDM equipmentFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen)Job Titles That Should ApplyEDM Operator, EDM Machinist, Wire EDM Operator, Sinker EDM Operator, CNC EDM Operator, EDM Programmer, Electrical Discharge Machining OperatorWhy Pivot GroupThe Pivot Group was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
