Other duties may be assigned.Purchase and manage a variety of products and brands for Knowledgeable in women's contemporary and luxury brands, as well as current trendsResponsible for assortment selection for 80+ luxury brands consisting of planning, customer needs, trends, competitors and merchandisingStudy sales history and inventory levels to evaluate what product is neededAbility to balance multiple brands and strategic thinking, as well as attention to detailAbility to effectively negotiate with vendors on RA's, sell through guarantees, trade discounts, marketing co-opsIdentify opportunities and risks in-season through analyzing sales performanceResponsible for calculating gross margin, turnover and OTBReviews sales results to strategize timely mark-downs and manages old age inventories through strategic liquidationWork closely with analytics team to execute a proper buyOversee Buying Assistant new order placement, reorders, and tracking to ensure timely receipt of merchandiseSourcing new products and new vendorsWork on special projects as assignedTrain and support Assistant Buyer and Buying AdminSome travel is requiredMust be able to work flexible hours to get the job doneRequired Competencies:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Ability to demonstrate logical thinking and problem solving skillsAbility to develop strong, synergistic relationships with a multitude of teams and personnelStrong multitasking, prioritization, and organization skillsStrong work ethic to excel in a fast paced environmentCapable self-manager ability to give constructive criticism, encourage teammates, and celebrate team successes Ability to work successfully with any personality typeStrong analytical skills, good judgment, creativity, and enthusiasmAbility to make tight deadlines Strong understanding of industry trends and market awarenessAbility to work in a faced-paced growing environmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Fashion or Business preferred5 + years of women's buying experience3 years experience in a buying office or fashion industry environment requiredWork experience as a Buyer is requiredStrong knowledge of and ability to apply retail math concepts, including elements of markup, margin planning, open to buy, and inventory productivity measuresProficient in Email, Microsoft applicationsPreferred Qualifications: Experience as a Manager Home Buying Experience E-commerce experience A successful candidate works well in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
